Our U.I.L. Production, "And They Dance Real Slow In Jackson" will be for Competition and the Public.
The Story: In Jackson, a small town in rural Indiana, Elizabeth Ann Willow lives with her father and mother. Crippled at birth with polio, Elizabeth Ann is confined to a wheelchair and must wear leg braces, which cuts her off from the other children.

A heartfelt memory tale that follows the story of young Josefina and her brother Ignacio’s journey from Mexico to the United States after the Mexican revolution. The play explores what it means to leave one land in search of another, and the value in maintaining ties to our past.
